Athlete Profile
Clayton attended Edwin Allen High School in Clarendon alongside her twin sister, Tina, training under Jamaican coach Michael Dyke. The sisters became known as the “Twin Turbo” pair while building separate individual sprint careers.
After competing together in Jamaican youth relay teams, Tia moved to Kingston in 2023 to begin professional training with MVP. Tina’s individual results should not be confused with Tia’s.
Career
Nairobi · Champs
Clayton missed out on the individual 100 m at the 2021 World Athletics U20 Championships in Nairobi. She nevertheless anchored Jamaica’s winning 4 × 100 m relay team, which set a U20 world record.
At the 2021 ISSA Boys and Girls Championships (Champs), Clayton was disqualified for a false start in the class two 100 m final. She also earned relay gold at the meeting.
Champs · CARIFTA · Cali
Clayton took bronze in the class one 100 m at Champs in 11.47. Her Edwin Allen High School 4 × 100 m team won gold in 43.28, extending its winning streak to eight.

Kingston · Paris
Clayton turned professional in 2023 and moved to Kingston to train with MVP. Her first professional season marked a transition from school competition to the senior sprint circuit.
At the 2024 Jamaican Championships, Clayton ran 10.90 in the 100 m to finish second with a −0.3 m/s wind reading. The result earned her a place on Jamaica’s team for the Paris Olympics.
At Paris 2024, Clayton improved her 100 m personal best to 10.86 in the semi-final (+1.0 m/s), after running 11.02 in the heats. She finished seventh in the final in 11.04, while Jamaica placed fifth in the 4 × 100 m relay.
Tokyo · Guangzhou
Clayton sustained an injury during the 2025 Jamaican national championships final and did not make the individual 100 m squad for the World Championships in Tokyo. She was selected for relay duty.
In Tokyo, Jamaica’s 4 × 100 m team won silver in a season’s best 41.79. Clayton also earned bronze at the World Athletics Relays in Guangzhou after taking part in the heats; Jamaica finished third in 42.33.
Her twin sister Tina also earned relay medals in 2025, but Tina’s individual 100 m silver and 10.76 personal best are not Tia’s results.
