Korey Boddington won the men's C4 kilometre time trial at the Para Cycling Track World Championships in Apeldoorn on 29 October 2026, according to Racetiming.ca's official results. The Australian displaced defending champion Jody Cundy, who took silver for Great Britain.
Boddington leads through the final
Racetiming.ca's results generated on 29 October 2026 give Boddington a winning time of 1:02.672. Cundy finished in 1:04.925, while Italy's Giacomo Salvalaggio took bronze in 1:05.006. Their places came from the published final order, rather than a projection from qualifying.
The final also included Belgium's Jarno Thierens and Britain's Archie Atkinson. Thierens moved ahead of Atkinson in the finishing order, but neither reached the podium. Salvalaggio held third place despite Thierens reaching the intermediate markers ahead of him.
SportsRivo checked the Racetiming.ca split chart against the finish order. Boddington led at the quarter-distance, halfway and three-quarter markers. Cundy ranked third at each checkpoint, while Thierens sat second at all three before dropping behind Salvalaggio at the finish. Boddington's advantage was established before the closing lap and survived it.
Cundy's title defence and the wider field
UCI's report from the previous championships says Cundy won this time-trial title in Rio, leading a British one-two with Atkinson. The same report records Boddington winning the sprint in a different cycle class. An earlier UCI account also documents a direct meeting in Rio: Cundy won their time-trial final while Boddington took silver. The Apeldoorn order reverses their positions. Boddington's victory came against the reigning champion in the event, with a previous head-to-head defeat behind him.
The UCI's 2026 championship preview says Apeldoorn is staging 48 world-title events from 29 October to 1 November. It explains that the cycle division uses conventional bicycles, adapted where necessary, while tandem races pair a visually impaired rider with a sighted pilot. Boddington's win belongs to the cycle division's international world championship programme.
Medal positions after the time trial
- Boddington takes the rainbow jersey in the time trial that Cundy had defended in Rio, giving Australia the new champion in this class.
- Cundy takes silver for Great Britain. Atkinson, last year's runner-up in the UCI account, finishes outside the medals this time.
- Salvalaggio claims bronze for Italy ahead of Thierens, completing a podium across Australia, Great Britain and Italy.
Sprint remains on the programme
The ARA Australian Cycling Team's 2026 programme lists the men's C4 sprint for Friday, 30 October in Apeldoorn. Boddington is on the team's roster for the championships; the scheduled sprint provides another race in his class after the time trial. The programme treats the sprint as a separate event, so the time-trial result does not settle its medals.
