Scottish Lassie Breeders Cup

Paulick Report reported that Scottish Lassie and Go for Launch were scratched from 2 Breeders’ Cup races at Keeneland on 28 October 2026. Scottish Lassie was entered for Saturday’s Distaff; Go for Launch had been due in Friday’s Juvenile Fillies Turf.

Scottish Lassie leaves the Distaff field

Breeders’ Cup officials announced both withdrawals on Wednesday, according to Ray Paulick’s report. The races are separate championships, and each lost a declared runner before the meeting began.

Scottish Lassie was removed after entries were taken and post positions assigned. Paulick Report says the Distaff now has eight fillies and mares. It is the second consecutive year Scottish Lassie has left that race after the draw.

The filly had finished runner-up to Fully Subscribed twice at Saratoga this season, in the Shuvee and Personal Ensign. That form put a potential rematch on the Distaff card before Scottish Lassie’s withdrawal.

Go for Launch was also scratched from the Juvenile Fillies Turf. The Kevin Attard-trained filly had won the Bolton Landing at Saratoga and was runner-up in the Algonquin at Woodbine, according to Paulick Report.

Scottish Lassie’s earlier withdrawal

SportsRivo checked Daily Racing Form’s account of the 2025 Distaff: trainer Jorge Abreu said he and the owners withdrew Scottish Lassie because of a minor right foreleg issue. That was a separate decision at Del Mar; the current withdrawal concerns the race at Keeneland.

Scottish Lassie returned to racing after that previous absence and earned the two Saratoga runner-up finishes reported by Paulick Report. The latest scratch therefore ends another Distaff attempt, without changing the results she recorded against Fully Subscribed.

Distaff field shrinks as Silent Beauty gains a place

  • The Distaff is left with eight fillies and mares following Scottish Lassie’s removal, according to Paulick Report. The original post-position draw can no longer be read as the current field.
  • Go for Launch’s withdrawal moves Irish-bred Silent Beauty from the also-eligible list into the Juvenile Fillies Turf. Paulick Report says Silent Beauty would start from the outside post if there are no further changes.

Keeneland races remain scheduled

The Juvenile Fillies Turf is scheduled for Friday and the Distaff for Saturday at Keeneland. Silent Beauty’s reported outside starting position remains conditional on the field not changing again before Friday’s race.
