Ravens finalise trade for Jacoby Brissett

Jacoby Brissett Ravens trade

The Baltimore Ravens finalised the trade for quarterback Jacoby Brissett on 6 November 2026, according to the Ravens' announcement. Baltimore expects him to start against the Los Angeles Chargers while Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley are on injured reserve.

Brissett joins an offence short of quarterbacks

Baltimore's announcement confirms a deal the club had previously described as still being finalised. Brissett arrives from Arizona after the Cardinals moved him behind Gardner Minshew II and Carson Beck on their quarterback depth chart. The Ravens say he is slated to start against the Chargers, making the planned appearance a significant change from the rookie-led offence that faced Jacksonville.

The Ravens' 6 November report says Brissett has made 73 career starts. He started Arizona's opening eight games this season before the Cardinals changed their order. Baltimore's account describes an offence that has struggled without Jackson, with undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano playing most of the previous two games. That gives Brissett a demanding assignment beyond simply learning a new playbook.

Veteran left tackle Ronnie Stanley warned in the Ravens' trade report: “I don’t think anyone can just come in and fix all the problems.” Stanley also welcomed the experience Brissett would bring. Baltimore has lost four straight games and been held below fourteen points in each, according to the same club report. The quarterback change therefore arrives amid a wider offensive slump.

From a reported deal to a completed move

SportsRivo compared Baltimore's earlier trade report with its later confirmation. The earlier article said the deal was still being finalised and that Brissett would not arrive for the Jacksonville game. The subsequent announcement says the trade has been completed. This is the new development: a prospective acquisition has become a confirmed option for the Ravens' next fixture.

The Ravens placed Jackson, who injured his right thumb, and Huntley, who injured a toe, on injured reserve before the Jaguars game. The club said both would miss at least four games. SportsRivo's report on the Jaguars defeat describes Fagnano's first NFL start and Baltimore's fourth consecutive loss. The trade follows that loss and gives the club another experienced quarterback while its usual starter and backup are unavailable.

What Brissett's arrival changes

  • Baltimore has a planned veteran starter for the Chargers game. The completed trade moves Brissett from a reported target to a player the Ravens can now prepare for that fixture.
  • Jackson and Huntley remain on injured reserve. Brissett's arrival gives Baltimore a different passing option during their absence, after Fagnano handled much of the recent work.
  • The offensive problems extend beyond the position. Stanley's warning and the club's account of its scoring run place the trade within a broader attempt to steady the attack.

Chargers game is the next test

The Ravens have announced that Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley have been placed on injured reserve. Brissett is slated to start against the Chargers on 16 November. The Ravens have confirmed that the trade has been finalised.
