Scott Mitchell-Malm studied journalism at the University of Kent, graduating with first-class honours, and joined Autosport in 2013. He wrote under the name Scott Mitchell for most of his Autosport years, so older articles carry that byline. In 2019 he moved to Stockholm, Sweden, where he still lives.
He is one of the F1 voices at The Race, writing news, technical analysis and coverage of the sport’s business side, from team partnerships to the race calendar. He has reported from the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku since 2018 and says he does not support one team, preferring the battles among smaller teams. At SportsRivo he works across motorsport, tennis, golf and combat sports, as the site’s all-round sports writer.

Scott joined Autosport in 2013 and became its Formula 1 reporter. He was also a judge for the McLaren Autosport BRDC Award, which recognises young British racing drivers.
He moved to Stockholm and went freelance, continuing to cover F1 for Autosport for a time before leaving the Autosport and Motorsport.com team at the start of 2020.
In January 2020 The Race named him with Edd Straw and Mark Hughes as part of its first F1 team. He has written news, technical features and business stories for the site since its launch.
He hosts The Race F1 Tech Show, appears on The Race F1 Podcast and contributes to GQ, Viaplay, Formula E and Podme.
Scott is also heard and seen outside the written page, mainly through The Race’s audio and video output.
